Types of certificates issued by SASO

The General Administration for Certification at the Saudi Standards Authority issues all certificates of conformity to products, and it is divided into four departments and includes:

Quality mark management

It grants licenses to use the Saudi Quality Mark logo to the national and foreign establishment in accordance with the requirements mentioned in the General Technical Regulations for the Quality Mark in cooperation with the authorized bodies, including Tabseer.

Manage competency cards

It grants licenses to use the energy efficiency card for electrical products (air conditioners, household washing machines, refrigerators-freezers, electric motors, lighting).

• Granting energy efficiency licenses for electric motors.

• Granting licenses to use the fuel economy card for new light vehicles.

• Granting licenses to use energy efficiency cards for tires.

• Register accredited laboratories in the electronic program for energy efficiency and consumption.

Manage conformity certificates

It issues a certificate of conformity to the product model, issues a certificate of conformity for a specific consignment of goods, and issues a certificate of conformity for a production batch.

Certification Management (IECEE)

It grants the corresponding national certificates of conformity, according to the International Certification Program (IECEE).

The conformity certificate is issued completely electronically through the Saber electronic platform through authorized entities, including Tabseer.

What is the Saudi conformity certificate?

It is a certificate required for all imported goods to complete the customs clearance process; Ensure that shipments comply with the relevant technical regulations, meet the safety standards of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and are suitable for use in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In order to obtain a certificate of conformity of Saudi products, importers must submit the application online through the Saber electronic platform, register the products in Saber and choose one of the bodies registered with the authority in the specified geographical area and the specific regulations, such as Tabseer, to issue the conformity decision.

A Product Conformity Certificate is issued online in the Saber platform for each product listed in accordance with the applicable product standards specified in the relevant technical regulations.

The certificate of conformity is issued by the approved granting authority in the country of origin of the product upon approval of the shipment to ensure its compliance, and the certificate of conformity is valid for a year.

Tabseer helps you to obtain product conformity certificates and a mission certificate, as Tabseer is a certification body accredited by the Gulf Accreditation Center according to the international standard ISO / IEC 17065/2012, and as a company registered as an accepted body in the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) to provide product conformity services For all electrical appliances and equipment, according to the technical regulations approved in the Gulf and Saudi Arabia.

The entity requesting the conformity certificate requests the service from the conformity assessment companies on Saber, including the Tabseer company, which in turn reviews the technical documents required from the entity seeking to obtain the conformity certificate.

After confirming the submitted documents, the Tabseer company team conducts the matching procedures and draws samples from the product to verify the validity of the submitted documents stating that the requirements are met in the absence of an approved and valid test report.

The results of the inspection that were made on the product are evaluated to indicate the extent of their compliance with the relevant regulations and standard specifications, and after approval and to ensure the conformity of the product, a product conformity certificate is issued and granted to the concerned party via the SABER electronic platform.
