How do establishments obtain a product conformity certificate from “SASO”? 

There are some steps that any establishment must take to obtain a certificate of conformity for the regulated products, whether they are imported or locally manufactured, and these steps are as follows:

•  First: Add the product to the list of products added by the establishment.

•  Second: Choosing the type of certificate for the product for which a conformity certificate is to be issued. 

• Third: Fill in the required data related to the types of certificates targeted to be obtained, which are divided into both: 

Equivalent certificate: 

• To obtain it, the establishment must enter its information to be issued immediately.

•   A Gulf Conformity Certificate or a COC Certificate of Conformity: 

• To obtain either of them, the system displays the conformity assessment bodies for selection between them, then the application is sent to the conformity assessment authority. 

(In the event that the request is received from the conformity assessment authority, a notification is sent to the facility to create an invoice to pay the cost of studying the conformity of the product, and after paying all costs, the request is studied and the establishment obtains the product test result, whether by acceptance or rejection, and in the case of product acceptance, the facility can print and review the conformity certificate. In the event of rejection, the facility can print a non-conformity report). 

Steps for products to obtain a conformity certificate from SASO (regulated) 

• Enter the conformity request page for a product through the home page. 

• Click on Request for a Product Conformity Certificate through the main e-services menu. Choose the required certificate. Steps for products to obtain a COC Certificate of Conformity 

• Enter the page for requesting a conformity certificate. 

• The products for which a certificate of conformity is required are displayed. User selects the product. 

•  Product data is displayed for the user to verify. 

• The user presses the “Next” button to go to the adding model numbers page. 

• The user adds the model numbers via an excel file by clicking on “download blank form”.

•  The user presses “select file” to upload all models in the excel file. (The user can add models manually by clicking on “Add with Model Number”) 

• The user presses the “Next” button to choose the conformity assessment bodies to send the request. 

(In the event that there is an additional requirement on the product such as a license (energy efficiency or water rationalization), the system will automatically display information, model numbers and licenses without the need to enter any data, and in the absence of an additional requirement, the user will not be able to complete the request until the additional requirement is issued on the product). 

• In the case of displaying data for license numbers for an additional requirement of energy efficiency or water rationalization, the user selects the brand that was displayed in addition to the model numbers on which the license is registered. 

• The user presses the “Next” button to complete the request. (In this case, the status of the application will be changed to “Awaiting receipt of the application from the evaluation authority”). 

Note: 

The system provides the user with the following options: 

(display the request, delete, track the status of the request), by returning to the requests and clicking on the options for the request.

 – After agreeing to receive the request from “SASO”, the user can create and pay the invoice to study the conformity of the product and take a decision to approve or reject it by “SASO”. 

Steps to obtain an equivalent certificate. 

This certificate is divided into 5 types: Saudi Quality Certificate, Degradable Plastic Certificate, IECEE Certificate, Gulf Conformity Certificate, and Energy Efficiency License. 

To obtain an equivalent certificate, the user must take several steps, which are as follows: – Apply for the certificate. – Products are shown as per requirement for each product. User selects the product. 

The product data is shown to the user for verification. 

– The user enters the certificate information for verification, (in the case of verification of the validity of the equivalent certificate data, the “Submit” button appears, and then the equivalent certificate will be issued immediately and for free, without the need to go through the conformity assessment authority). 

Note: 

In the event that the equivalent certificate is “Gulf”, the system automatically sends the application to the conformity assessment body that issued the Gulf certificate to approve the application and issue the certificate. 

Steps to create a bulk order, through this feature, the user can obtain a COC product matching request for several products, provided that it is sent to the same entity once without the need to send each request separately, and the user can obtain this feature by doing several steps according to the following:

• Enter the page to submit a product conformity certificate request. The user clicks on a bulk order. Selection of the geographical area of ​​the office. The user chooses among the available offices.

• The products that will be sent to the entity that have been chosen by the user are added. 

• The user clicks on “Send Request”. Steps to create and pay an invoice for the costs of obtaining a COC Certificate of Conformity 

• The user logs into the system. 

• Click on “pre-added orders” from the home page.

• Enter the list of requests for conformity certificates.

• The user presses “Create invoice” to specify the orders for which a consolidated invoice will be issued. 

• (The conformity body can amend the product data, and the user can view this data by clicking on the order number). 

• A notification message will be displayed to the user to confirm the issuance of a unified invoice for the specified requests by pressing “Yes”. 

• After paying the bill, the status of the request will be changed to “awaiting the decision of the conformity assessment authority”. – The conformity body is notified to start the product testing process and the conformity decision is taken. (The user can print the conformity certificate after approving the product conformity approval).
