TABSEER team took part in the workshop held by the Riyadh Chamber on 13/11/2018 at the Chamber’s headquarters in the framework of the introduction of the Saber system and explained how the new electronic system for acceptance of the products received in Saudi Arabia will be implemented. For his part, Mahdi Al Qahtani, Director of the Accreditation Department of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Authority, said that the objective of the Saber system is to ensure that the products exported to the Kingdom conform to the standards of quality and specifications in accordance with the requirements of the Saudi Commission. The Director of the Department of acceptance of conformity assessment bodies in the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality,added that all processes on the Saber system are carried out electronically, in such a way as to ensure the speed of issuance of conformity documents for products, time acquisition and integration of operations, as well as the protection of the conformity certificate from forgery and ensuring the safety of the product. The system has set the approved authorities for the Saudi market, according to international standards. He pointed out that the system collects the special regulations for the approval of each type of product, such as building materials and chemicals. For example, there are about 29 lists for different types of machinery products.
